Bellevue, Washington is one of the fastest growing communities in the state of Washington and is located just across from Lake Washington. Although this community is currently considered on the edge or a booming community as the result of its rapid development and growth, it has always been considered a suburb of Seattle. More structures and buildings are constructed and the community undergoing considerable development in the form of new construction and renovations, such as the high-rises currently being constructed for office and retail space.

The economy in Bellevue, Washington is constantly growing. The reason for this is that Bellevue is home to a number of large and well known companies and businesses. These include Symmetra, Sharebuilder, Drugstore, T-Mobile, Expedia, Eddie Bauer, and many others. Across from Bellevue Square, Microsoft intends to lease some 15 floors in a new high-rise currently being constructed. It is obvious that the economy of Bellevue is doing well and expanding every day with all of these very well-known businesses and companies calling Bellevue their home in addition to many others.

In 1869, a man named William Meydenbauer established the settlement of Bellevue, which makes the history of Bellevue particularly interesting. However, it wasn't until 1953, that Bellevue was incorporated. For some time, Bellevue was considered simply another rural part of Washington that wasn't easy to get to and as the result very little growth or development took place. However, in 1940, with the construction of Lake Washington Floating Bridge, access was significantly improved and Bellevue finally began to grow.

Many people who worked in Seattle wanted to live in Bellevue because it was more affordable and nearby. Another bridge was opened across Lake Washington in 1963 known as the Evergreen Point Floating Bridge. The population of Bellevue increased significantly with this second bridge. Between the 1980's and the 1990's, this growth continued. During the early 2000's, there was a brief holdup in growth. The Bellevue was once again developing and growing.

The fact is that several new high-rise buildings are being built, which will be completed in a few years. Finding new tenants for all of the new retail spaces and offices shouldn't be a problem and it's quite possible that all the space will sell out prior to the construction being completed.

Both the regional and local and transit system's hubs are located in Bellevue. The Bellevue Transit System is located downtown and there are regional and local buses attending to many different communities.There were some transit projects that were up in the air that include the light rail system. In 2007, residents determined the outcome of this issue.

The colleges in Bellevue include City University and Bellevue Community College. Younger students attend public schools in the Bellevue School District. The high schools in Bellevue include Sammamish High School, Newport High School, Interlake High School, and Bellevue High School. In 2005, the magazine Newsweek included all of these high schools on the list of the best high schools in America. The Waldorf elementary school as well as two alternative high schools are also located in Bellevue.

Bellevue is a beautiful city with its close proximity to Seattle as well as to Lake Washington. The city features more than 100 vibrant neighborhoods and parks.
