I am asked this question on almost a daily basis it at our Redmond, WA shop. Most likely there is no major damage to your device and your data is still intact, so rest easy. And even better news is it can be fixed with not a lot of trouble. A broken LCD’s visual appearance can vary from no display at all to discoloration or patches that have an “inky” look to them and even lines of color. One way you might be able to tell your phone still working is that you can still use your Galaxy S3, S4 or S5 with a bluetooth wireless earbud or control your iPhone with Siri. Or, you may feel your Samsung Galaxy S or Note device vibrate when switched on or in the case of iPhones 4, 5 and 6, plugging it into power will many times cause it to vibrate. You can also still hear it ring when the number is dialed. All of which means it’s still kickin’
So now what do I do? Well.. My first recommendation would be to bring it to our Redmond location and have the LCD replaced in less than an hour. The cost of replacing the LCD assembly is more than the glass only repair but considering the cost of replacing the device it still makes sense. This holds true for a large number of smartphones and tablets and you can always call us to find out what your options are.
We stock the replacement LCD assemblies in a variety of colors for the Samsung Galaxy S3, S4 and S5 as well as Note 2 and 3 and very soon Note 4 at very competitive prices. See you soon!
